Art-Based Education Built to Inspire Future Generations
Created by Welsh Artist Jeffrey Phillips — Millennium Commission Fellowship Award Winner
The Wheel of Balance is a 12-panel piece of artwork created by Welsh artist Jeffrey Phillips — winner of a life-long Fellowship Award from the Millennium Commission. Spanning over 25 years of educational engagement, it has been showcased in schools across Wales by The Environment Centre Swansea, Welsh artist Jeffrey Phillips, and education officers.
Designed to help young people and communities understand how creativity, sustainability, history, innovation and community all connect, it covers every key industry that shapes our world — from energy and technology to marine biology and space exploration. With sustainability and environmental consciousness at its heart, it is a dynamic educational tool for schools, home educators, community groups and organisations across the UK and internationally.
environmental consciousness, the importance of our oceans, forests and natural resources, how ecosystems interconnect, the impact of human behaviour on the planet, and the importance of biodiversity and marine life.
building communication and teamwork skills, enhancing self-confidence, unlocking curiosity, broadening horizons through cross-cultural exchange, and connecting learning to real-world career opportunities.
The programme is built around 12 subject panels, each exploring a different and interconnected aspect of our world. Participants can explore all 12 or a selected number depending on their programme.
