Heritage Life Horizons bridges the wisdom of the past with the demands of the future.
We believe sustainable progress begins with understanding cultural identity — using heritage not as something to preserve in isolation, but as a living foundation for education, innovation and global connection.
Through our art-based sustainability education, cross-cultural education programme and community engagement, we create meaningful experiences that connect people, place and purpose.
Led by Welsh artist Jeffrey Phillips — creator of the Wheel of Balance and recipient of a life-long Fellowship Award from the Millennium Commission — our programmes use art as a powerful tool to communicate sustainability, inspire environmental awareness and support learning across generations.
Working across the UK and international partners, we support schools, organisations and communities to transform heritage into relevant, forward-thinking education and lasting social impact.

Heritage Life Horizons bridges the wisdom of the past with the innovation of the future. We believe sustainable living is rooted in understanding and preserving cultural heritage while adapting to modern challenges.
The Wheel of Balance has an established and proven track record in education spanning over 25 years. As an accredited sustainability programme for schools, it has been showcased in schools across Wales by The Environment Centre Swansea, Welsh artist Jeffrey Phillips, and education officers — building a powerful foundation of engagement, inspiration and learning that Heritage Life Horizons CIC is now bringing to schools, home educators, community groups and organisations across the UK and internationally.
The Wheel of Balance is equally suited to home educators looking for a structured homeschool environmental curriculum — engaging, accredited programmes that inspire curiosity and real-world learning.
The Wheel of Balance is a 12-panel piece of artwork created by Welsh artist Jeffrey Phillips — winner of a life-long Fellowship Award from the Millennium Commission. Designed to help young people understand how creativity, sustainability, history, innovation and community all connect, it covers every key industry that shapes our world, from energy and technology to marine biology and space exploration. With sustainability and environmental consciousness at its heart, it is used as a dynamic educational tool in schools, home education settings, community groups and organisations across Wales and internationally.
Participants are invited to engage with and learn from the 12 panels, exploring each subject through discussion, creative arts and hands-on activities. As part of their journey, participants are also given the opportunity to create their own personal Wheel of Balance — a creative and meaningful expression of what they have learned and how they see the world around them.
The programme is built around 12 subject panels, each exploring a different aspect of our world — from marine biology and renewable energy to space exploration and cultural heritage. Every panel is designed to spark curiosity, inspire discussion and connect learning to the world participants live in.
